From a Food Spot to a Social Community Hub
Most food brands in the category communicate in the same way: dishes, offers, and photographs of what is being served. Sage was being perceived within that same category, as a place to order from rather than a place to belong to. Its brand voice lacked the cues that could position it as something more meaningful: a social community hub built around food, flavour, and connection.
Flavour as Belonging
We built the Sage brand strategy around a simple idea: flavour is not only what arrives at the table, it is also what people bring to it. This reframed what Sage was offering. Rather than competing on the dish alone, the brand became a reason to gather, connect, and stay at the table.
This strategic shift moved Sage from a conventional food spot to a social community hub, and became the foundation for its brand identity, communication, and creative expression.

One Line, Endlessly Reusable
The idea is brought to life through a simple, flexible verbal identity: proverbs that express what Sage stands for, rather than simply describing what it sells.
Each proverb becomes its own piece of visual communication, giving the brand a distinctive way to talk about food, people, occasions, and everyday moments. More importantly, the system is designed to keep producing. A new season, dish, event, or occasion can become another proverb without requiring the brand to be redesigned.
The result is a scalable restaurant branding system that keeps Sage recognizable while allowing its content and communication to continuously evolve.
