Before starting a rebrand, most businesses jump straight to design: a new logo, new colours, a new look. But the questions that matter most come first, and they’re business questions, not design questions.
Start with what your loyal customers will miss. Every rebrand takes something away, whether it’s a familiar name, a look people recognise or a feeling they associate with you. It’s better to know what before they tell you.
Then get clear on the new position and promise your new target customer will expect. A rebrand should move your business towards a clearer position, not just a fresher appearance. If you can’t say it in one sentence, you’re not repositioning. You’re redecorating.
And finally, look at the issues that kept coming up before. Customer complaints, operational gaps and inconsistencies don’t disappear with a new identity. A new identity on an old problem just makes the problem better-looking.
In this video, we explain why answering these three questions separates a rebrand that grows your business from one that only changes how it looks.
